On Thursday, April 18, over a dozen Chicago REALTORS® attended the Illinois REALTORS® “Let’s Talk Real Estate” event, featuring Congressman Jesus ‘Chuy’ Garcia.
After sharing his route to Congress and passion for serving his constituents, Congressman Garcia started an in-depth discussion about the federal issues and public policies impacting real estate. He answered a number of questions that addressed topics such as flood insurance, tax reform and GSE reform. To close the discussion, Congressman Garcia expressed he desire and work in keeping homeownership affordable so everyone can reach and achieve the American dream.
CAR member and former Director Sonia Anaya currently serves as Congressman Garcia’s Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) and proudly moderated the event. Also in attendance were CAR members Nancy Suvarnamani, who is the FPC for Senator Duckworth, and Alicia Ruiz, who is also an Alderman in the City of Berwyn.
