REALTOR® Community Initiatives

Canned Food Drive: Curbside Delivery Available!

Soon the holidays will be upon us, and as we say goodbye to 2009 and prepare to welcome a new year, C.A.R. would like to ask for your help with our final inititative, a canned food drive. Help women and children, who are victims of domestic violence, by donating non-parishable food and other items at all C.A.R. locations from October 1 - December 31. Donations will be made to Connections for Abused Women and their Children.

As a special thank you for your donations, we are implementing a curbside delivery service. This service will be provided to members who would like to donate, but may not want to park, or pay for parking in some cases, but would rather just drop off items and go. If you would like to take advantage of this offer please contact Tim Katello, (312) 214 - 5525, or Kali Loader, to schedule to have a C.A.R. staff member meet you out front of any of our C.A.R. locations.

REALTORS® to the Rescue Towel Drive

During the month of June, all C.A.R. locations will be accepting donations of clean new or gently used towels in an effort to help REALTORS® to the Rescue support local animal shelters in need.

REALTORS® To The Rescue is a newly formed not-for-profit group of Chicago REALTORS® who are joining forces to impact the issue of homeless animals in the city of Chicago. The group works to provide and recruit volunteer support for shelters as well as raise money to support shelters using the expansive network of Chicago REALTORS®.

Since their inception the group has worked with Cook County Sherriff, Tom Dart, to assist in the education of households with pets facing foreclosures. REALTORS® to the Rescue paired with the Anti-Cruelty Society to create a handout outlining the resources available to pet-owners that deputies will hand-out during evictions.
