Scott A. Fithian

Scott joined the Lord Companies in 1999. He brings strong sales, marketing and project management expertise from his prior experience in real estate development, corporate sales & marketing and management consulting. With Lord Companies he has focused on brokerage and consulting for small- to medium-sized retail and mixed-use commercial developments. He represents a wide range of owners and developers of new and rehabbed properties. In his consulting capacity he advises clients throughout the development process, from developing the initial business plans and pro formas, all the way through to final tenant build-out. Scott has also completed several real estate development projects including an award-winning new construction townhouse project in the Lincoln Square area, the conversion of a former storage building to a loft office building in the West Loop and the conversion of a 110 unit mixed-use apartment building in River North to residential and commercial condos.

His primary focus is the Chicago urban market, with a particular expertise in the “collar” neighborhoods surrounding the Loop. He has been a consistent top performer, including being the top commercial producer in the Lake View and Lincoln Park neighborhoods. He and his partner, Keith Lord, were recognized as Chicago’s top retail leasing owner’s representation brokers at the Chicago Association of Realtor’s-sponsored Commercial Forum Awards in 2004.

Prior to joining Lord Companies Scott ran his own real estate development company. He was also the Managing Director of SFA Advisory Group, a sales and marketing consulting firm which he established in 1994. Scott had nearly 20 years of experience in the medical equipment/life sciences industry prior to getting into real estate. This included 10 years of senior sales, marketing, strategic planning and business development experience with both large and small companies in the industry, including Abbott Laboratories, Membrex, and Serono-Baker Diagnostics, plus nearly 10 years as a management consultant and as a medical device industry analyst with Lehman Brothers on Wall Street. Scott has an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Harvard Graduate School of Business which he earned in 1980. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of General Studies degree in Political Economics in 1976.
