Senior Real Estate Specialist Designation Course (SRES)
Get Ready for the Boomers! They’re not your traditional grandparents. The largest and wealthiest buyers' group in the country is made up of Baby Boomers. Understand what motivates this mature demographic and make your business boom with an SRES® designation.
You Will Learn How To:
Distinguish characteristics and trends of real estate clients aged 55 and over, so that you can develop strategic outreach plans in your own market area
Challenge stereotypes and draw valid generalities about 55+ real estate clients and customers
Raise awareness of some dos and don'ts when striving to gain and serve the 55+ market
Raise awareness of issues and factors that affect this demographic's community and property selection
Evaluate your market area's attractiveness to the 55+ market
Understand implications of The Federal Housing for Older Persons Act (HOPA)
Develop business-building outreach methods for communicating and earning the 55+ market
Make Your Web site senior friendly
Recognize the uses, benefits, procedures and issues involved in reverse mortgages
Recognize the uses of pensions, 401k accounts, and IRAs in real estate transactions
Recognize how a home can be adapted for safety, comfort and aging in place

Three (3) requirements must be met to attain and use the SRES® designation. The SRES course counts as one REBAC elective course to be applied toward the ABR designation. The SRES course counts as one REBAC elective course to be applied toward the ABR designation.
Successful completion of the two-day SRES® Designation Course, including an 80% passing grade on the exam.
Maintain active membership in the National Association of REALTORS®.
Maintain active membership in the SRES® Council. The first year membership is included with the SRES® Designation course. However, every year thereafter will require payment of annual dues.
