Advocacy Committees

There are many opportunities to become involved in C.A.R.'s advocacy efforts. To join a committee,contact Brian Bernardoni, Director of Governmental Affairs, at bbernardoni@chicagorealtor.com.

Government Affairs Committee (GAC)

The Government Affairs Committee, which meets monthly, recommends the public policy initiatives of C.A.R. and provides counsel to the Board of Directors on selected issues.

GAC Sub-Committees

  • Taxation - oversees the public policy direction with regards to taxation, advisory to the GAC.
  • Zoning - oversees the public policy direction with regards to zoning reform, advisory to the GAC.

Property Management Committee

The Property Management Committee, which meets monthly, recommends the policy directions relating to regulations, trends, and codes that impact the Property Management sector of our membership.

Cultural Diversity

The Cultural Diversity Committee, which meets monthly, works to further fair housing and anti-discriminatory initiatives.

REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC)

The RPAC Committee meets December through June and oversees the political contribution fundraising policy of the Association.

Chicago Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee (CARPAC)

CARPAC meets quarterly and oversees the policy of CAR's political distribution.
