Chicago Association of REALTORS® to Induct Prominent Developer Richard Zisook into Hall of Fame

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 14, 2012

The Chicago Association of REALTORS® will induct prominent developer Richard Zisook, principal of Sandz Development Co. and Richard Builders, Inc., into the Chicago Association of REALTORS® Hall of Fame. Mr. Zisook will be honored for his achievements at the association’s 129th Inaugural Gala, to be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the InterContinental-Magnificent Mile.

Mr. Zisook built his success on the tradition of a real estate development business established by his grandfather, Harry A. Zisook. Over time, Richard Zisook’s condo, townhome and other developments helped set the tone of some of Chicago’s most visible neighborhoods, including Streeterville, the Gold Coast and Lincoln Park.

Mr. Zisook launched his career in 1968 when he and fellow entrepreneur Michael Supera began acquiring small buildings and building new ones in Lincoln Park. The two created a joint venture that continues today. A defining point in Mr. Zisook’s career was The Whitney, a Gold Coast high-rise where he was responsible for zoning, construction and marketing that led to more large developments. In the 2000s Richard and his partners, also including Buzz Ruttenberg, completed Lake Shore Drive condominium projects that succeeded in a down market. Mr. Zisook’s latest enterprise, adaptive reuse of the former Lincoln Park Hospital, is yet another proud achievement.

Philanthropically, Mr. Zisook is a co-founder of the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and also supports the Jewish United Fund, U.S. Holocaust Museum, Children’s Memorial Foundation, W.I.T.S. and many other important causes.

The C.A.R. Hall of Fame was created in 1986 by the C.A.R. Education Foundation to recognize REALTORS® and other real estate professionals of exceptional achievement and character. In addition, the Hall of Fame recognizes professionals who have positively and profoundly influenced younger generations entering real estate careers, according to Hall of Fame Founding Chairman Sheldon Good. C.A.R. Hall of Fame inductees include many individuals who helped shape Chicago’s skyline.

Take advantage of early-bird pricing to attend the C.A.R. Inaugural Gala, with individual tickets or tables of 10 available before August 30. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit ChicagoREALTOR.com/Events.
