2018 REALTOR® of the Year: Matt Silver

September 12th was the premier night for real estate in Chicago, as the Chicago Association of REALTORS® proudly presented its 135th Annual Inaugural Gala. Complemented by dancing, live music, and lots of laughs, the event included the installation of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® 2018-2019 Board of Directors, and honored several individuals for their contributions and positive influence, including the recipient of the REALTOR® of the Year Award. The REALTOR® of the Year Award recognizes an exemplary industry leader with a minimum 10 years of experience, who is a REALTOR® in good standing and involved in activities at the local, state and national levels.

REALTOR® OF THE YEAR: MATT SILVER

With decades of experience in both commercial and residential real estate, Matt Silver is known as a premier real estate broker and a voice of real estate in Chicago. A partner with Urban Real Estate, Matt has been recognized as a CAR Top Producer every year since 1999. He served as president of the association in 2017, representing the interests of our diverse membership. He works closely with both congressional lawmakers and foreign consulates to promote Illinois real estate, serving as a liaison to Israel and as a Federal Political Coordinator to Representative Brad Schneider. With six years of service on the Real Estate Education Foundation board, including a term as president, he has worked tirelessly to ensure our advocacy and education efforts secure our industry. A champion of bringing more diverse voices to prominence in leadership, this summer he founded the Matt Silver Advocacy Endeavor Scholarship through the Chicago Association of REALTORS® Foundation, to enable more minority men and women to have a seat at the table with our advocacy work here in Chicago, as well as in Springfield and Washington, D.C.
